classes in Danscentrumjette 2011
Choreographer, dancer and teacher specialised in contemporary dance techniques, improvisation and the making of conceptual performances with a theatrical accent. Graduated in 2000 from the European Dance Development Center in Arnhem. Since 1998 he is developing a way to dance that integrates bodywork with theatricality and conceptual possibilities. This is crystallising in his method of paradoxes.
In his teachings he proposes paradoxes that will bring the student closer to his or her inner motivations to dance. They are stretches from the intuitive body-mind continuum into the realms within and beyond the rational conceptual mind challenging the dancer to be fully authentic within any given form.
The form he chooses to bring to DCJ will be a strong line of grounding exercises juxtaposed with an opening intention. Once a vivid contact with the body is established, and natural flow and support are experienced, the teaching will continue to integrate , emotional body, spatial awareness, interpersonal relating, complex movements, etc…
